While existing golf clubs like Enugu, Ebonyi, and Aba have been popular options for golfers in the region, the Acropolis Golf Resort aims to provide an additional venue for recreation and competition.
In addition to serving as a recreational facility, Ogakwu revealed that the Acropolis Golf Resort has ambitious plans to become a hub for golf in the Southeast and a center for developing golfing talents in the region. The design of the golf course allows for future modifications that could potentially transform it into a championship course, and the resort is collaborating with the Professional Golfers Association of Nigeria to achieve this goal.
Professional golfer Mike Ubi, who is consulting on the project, praised the current layout of the course, which features nine holes with a par of 36. He believes that the layout already distinguishes the facility as a desirable destination for golfers and anticipates that the launch of the Acropolis Golf Resort will offer players a new and exciting experience. Ubi has been involved in enhancing the course and is confident that it will play a significant role in the development of golf in the region.
The opening ceremony of the Acropolis Golf Resort will be a grand event, with the top 15 professional golfers in Nigeria invited to participate.
