Obi attack backlash: Nothing must happen to our son– Igbo leaders, others

The reported attack and obstruction of the convoy of presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Mr Peter Obi, in Benue State has triggered fresh anxiety in the South-East, with Igbo leaders and socio-cultural organisations warning that nothing should happen to the former Anambra State governor.

They warned that any further attack on Obi could deepen an already volatile political atmosphere and potentially trigger reactions capable of worsening the nation’s political crisis ahead of the 2027 general elections.
