Nothing wrong with judges attending parties organised by politicians – Senior lawyer, Ubani

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Monday Ubani, has said that there is nothing wrong in judges attending parties or events organised by politicians or being social.

Ubani, a human rights lawyer and activist, pointed out that judges are human beings but maintained that there should be a distinction.

According to him, socialising with people should not stop a good judge from delivering the right judgment when it matters.

He said: “The question on judges attending parties which you consider to be very bad, I do not share that view. That a judge goes to a party does not make him a bad judge or mean that the judge will compromise his judicial duties.
