The Zamfara Government recently announced that it has disbursed a total of over N2.3 billion in gratuity payments to 1,746 retired civil servants in the state. This significant disbursement was confirmed by Sulaiman Idris, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Dauda Lawal on Media and Publicity, in a statement released to the press in Gusau.
According to Idris, the gratuity payments were made to both state and local government retirees, with a total of 1,746 individuals benefiting from the funds. In total, 3,079 retirees were verified in order to facilitate the payment of these gratuities. Additionally, the government has already started the payment process for the second tranche of verified pensioners’ gratuity, with the first payments commencing on Friday, March 1.
Idris reported that a total of 413 verified retirees from the state civil service have received payments totaling N682.2 million. Furthermore, the payment process for verified local government retirees has also begun, with 403 pensioners from the local government areas being paid a total of N449.6 million.
