Bashir Ahmad, a former presidential aide, has expressed his strong opposition towards Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party. Ahmad made it clear that he would not support Obi’s bid for the presidency of Nigeria under any circumstances, stating that he considers it a taboo to wish bad things upon one’s own country.
Ahmad, who is a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), reiterated his antagonism towards Obi and emphasized that he would always oppose him due to his belief that it is inappropriate to wish negative outcomes for one’s country. He referred to a past incident during Obi’s tenure as governor of Anambra state to support his stance.
In addition, Ahmad criticized the Labour Party for allegedly lacking an office in Kano state and mocked Obi for defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He also took to social media to ridicule Obis for napping at the palace of a traditional monarch, further highlighting his disapproval of the former governor.
Furthermore, Ahmad reacted to the speculated proposed alliance between Obi, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, asserting that the APC had gained the upper hand even when the trio were together in 2019.
Despite the adversarial stance, it is important to highlight that Ahmad’s comments reflect his personal opinions and political affiliations. The article provides an insight into the dynamics of Nigerian politics and highlights the contrasting perspectives within the country’s political landscape.
