Hadiza Bala-Usman, a special adviser to President Bola Tinubu on policy and coordination and the head of the central delivery and coordination unit, has issued a warning that non-performing ministers will be dropped from the Nigerian government. She emphasized that Tinubu is committed to delivering on his promise to improve the lives of Nigerians and expects his cabinet members to do the same.
Bala-Usman made these remarks at the opening of the technical retreat for delivery desk officers of federal ministries in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state. She stressed the seriousness of Tinubu’s intentions to make life better for all Nigerians and urged delivery desk officers and directors of planning in ministries to take their responsibilities seriously.
According to Bala-Usman, the president will assess and remove ministers who fail to perform. She reiterated that Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda goes beyond economic growth and also focuses on creating a more just and equitable society, improving education and health, reducing poverty, and providing opportunities for all Nigerians to succeed.
This sentiment was echoed by This Day newspaper, which noted Bala-Usman’s assertion, and by Daily Trust, which reported on her address to delivery officers and directors of planning in ministries.

The president’s determination to hold his ministers accountable for their performance underscores his dedication to fulfilling his promises to the Nigerian people. This commitment is in line with his Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to create a society where all citizens have the opportunity to thrive.
In conclusion, Bala-Usman’s remarks highlight Tinubu’s resolve to improve the lives of Nigerians and ensure effective governance. They serve as a reminder to all cabinet members to prioritize the delivery of their mandates to benefit the nation as a whole.
