President Bola Tinubu, along with governors, members of the National Assembly, and other dignitaries, attended the final burial ceremony of former Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, in Owo. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, and governors from various states were also present at the ceremony held at St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Imola, Owo.
The Bishop of Ikwerre and Archbishop of Niger Delta Province, Anglican Communion, Rev. Blessing Enyindah, delivered a sermon titled “The Brevity of Life” at the ceremony, emphasizing the fleeting nature of life and the importance of leaving a meaningful impact. He urged politicians to address the hardships faced by Nigerians and reflect on their legacy and actions. Enyindah highlighted Akeredolu’s contributions to Ondo State and the Anglican Church, calling for the protection of his legacy and continuation of the projects he initiated.
