Nigeria: Sokoto Chief-of Staff-seeks constitutional recognition of media as Arm of Govt — Africa Links 24

The Chief of Staff to Gov. Nasir Idris of Kebbi, Attahiru Maccido, has advocated for constitutional recognition of the media as an arm of government rather than the traditional “fourth estate of the realm.”

Mr Maccido made the call on Monday at the Maiden Public Lecture organised by the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, held in Birnin Kebbi.
