The Senate has called on the Police Service Commission, PSC, to ensure the recruitment of a minimum of 10 candidates from each of the 774 Local Government Areas, LGAs, in Nigeria. This directive came after Sen. Udende Memga (APC- Benue) presented a motion during plenary, highlighting the need for the Buhari administration’s plan to recruit 10,000 constables annually to address the country’s security challenges.
In his presentation, Sen. Memga emphasized the importance of implementing this recruitment policy in a manner that reflects the strength of each LGA, particularly in the context of community policing.
