The division within the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Governors Forum (PDP GF) has escalated, mirroring tensions in the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) over the continued tenure of acting national chairman, Iliya Damagum.
The conflict became public when Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde openly backed Damagum, after PDP GF Chairman and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, hinted that Damagum could be replaced during a meeting with a faction of the NWC in Bauchi.
