The National Association of Retired Hajj Administrators of Nigeria (NARHAN) has announced its plans to convene a Hajj and Umrah stakeholder conference in order to garner wider support for Hajj and Umrah policies in Nigeria. This association is made up of former and retired executives from Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards across various states in Nigeria, who have pledged to utilize their expertise to aid current hajj managers in policy development and operational matters.

In a statement released by the interim Chairman of NARHAN, Bukar Kime Dapsa, and the Media/Technical Advisor to the group, Ibrahim Muhammed, it was emphasized that the group has come together to strengthen the bond between pilgrims and hajj managers, as well as to bolster the hajj and umrah industry in Nigeria. With their extensive experience in managing hajj at the state level, these individuals are determined to contribute positively to the sector.

The association has appointed a team of individuals to lead NARHAN in achieving its objectives, pending the formalization of all executives and legal procedures. The team includes individuals who have previously held high-ranking positions in Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards in various states, such as Alh Muhammad Abbah Dambatta from Kano, Alh Adeniyi Okoya from Lagos, and Yusuf Bako from Edo, among others, who will serve in various capacities within the association.

Former Executive Chairman of Yobe State Muslim Pilgrims Commission, Bukar Kime Dapsa, will serve as the Interim Chairman of NARHAN. The group aims to work collaboratively with stakeholders in the hajj and umrah industry to enhance policies and operations in Nigeria for the benefit of pilgrims and the sector as a whole.

The statement also highlighted the diverse expertise and backgrounds of the appointed members, ranging from Legal Advisers to Financial Secretaries and Public Relations Officers, all of whom bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. The association is dedicated to promoting transparency, professionalism, and efficiency in the management of hajj and umrah affairs in Nigeria.

As part of their commitment to the sector, the association has named Ibrahim Muhammed, the Publisher of Hajj Reporters, as the Media and Technical Adviser to the group. This appointment reflects NARHAN’s focus on utilizing modern technology and communication strategies to enhance their operations and outreach within the industry.
