President Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria recently shared his administration’s progress report for the month of March. The update was posted on the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Media Centre ‘X’ account on April 1, 2024. This report showcases President Tinubu’s commitment to fulfilling his Renewed Hope Agenda.

In March, several key achievements were highlighted. These include the approval to institutionalize a 30% representation of young people in government appointments. Additionally, there was approval to restructure and institutionalize the Nigerian youth investment fund. The revamped youth investment fund is set to receive #25 billion from the 2023 supplementary appropriation act and an additional #25 billion from the youth development fund in the 2024 budget.

Furthermore, there was approval for a #60 billion release from the CBN through the Agric Investment and Small and Medium Enterprises Scheme to support Nigerian youth. An economic management task force was also established, marking a significant step towards effective economic governance.

President Tinubu’s administration also made strides in addressing crucial financial issues. The complete payment of the $7 billion foreign exchange (FX) backlog demonstrates a commitment to stabilizing the economy. Additionally, a new Recapitalization benchmark of N500bn was set by the CBN to strengthen financial institutions.

In line with efforts to promote good governance, a bill was forwarded to the National Assembly to prescribe the Salaries, Allowances, and Fringe Benefits of Judicial Office Holders in Nigeria. A three-month ban on foreign trips by government appointees was also implemented to reduce the cost of governance.

Other noteworthy achievements include the approval for the conversion of the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Enugu, to a full-fledged University of Allied Health Sciences. The commencement of the construction of the 700 km Lagos-Calabar coastal road demonstrates a commitment to infrastructure development.

President Tinubu’s administration has been proactive in prioritizing the welfare of Nigerian youths. By focusing on youth empowerment and investment, the government is working towards creating opportunities for the younger generation. This commitment is evident in the various initiatives launched in March.

Overall, President Tinubu’s progress report for March reflects a government dedicated to implementing key reforms and addressing critical issues. The achievements outlined in the report demonstrate a commitment to fulfilling the Renewed Hope Agenda and creating a better future for all Nigerians.
