Team Nigeria is gearing up for the 13th African Games with a strong contingent of over 358 athletes set to compete in 25 different sports. The official event dates are from March 8 to 23, with competitions taking place in various locations such as Accra, Kumasi, and Cape Coast.

The delegation from Nigeria is diverse, with athletics leading the pack with 50 participants, followed closely by football with 40 players. Other sports represented include Arm Wrestling (15 athletes), Badminton (12), Basketball 3 x 3 (4 female athletes), Beach Volleyball (4 athletes), Boxing (11), Chess (4), Cricket (15), Cycling (12), and Hockey (32). Additionally, Handball (14), Judo (10), Karate (14), Mixed Martial Arts (4), Rugby (16), Scrabble (8), Swimming (4), Table Tennis (10), Taekwondo (14), Tennis (8), Triathlon (4), Volleyball (24), Weightlifting (12), and Wrestling (14 athletes) will be showcased at the event.

The competition began with table tennis enthusiasts gathering at the Accra International Conference Centre to witness the draw for the event, setting the stage for an exhilarating tournament filled with talent and skill. The Games officially kick off on March 8, promising fans and participants an exciting display of athleticism and sportsmanship across various venues in Ghana.

The closing ceremony on March 23 will mark the end of weeks of intense competition and camaraderie, with memories of triumph and spectacle created at venues such as the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, Accra International Conference Centre, Multipurpose Hall, and Borteyman Sports Complex.
