President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been seen watching the inauguration of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo of Kogi State from France. The event has stirred up reactions on social media as photos of Tinubu watching the inauguration of Ododo surfaced online.
The President’s special adviser on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, confirmed the development and shared the photos of Tinubu on social media. With the swearing-in of Ododo on Saturday, he becomes the 5th executive governor of the state.
Tinubu had departed Abuja for Paris, France, on Wednesday, January 24, to embark on a private visit. And though he was not physically present at the inauguration, he watched the event virtually from France, as disclosed in photos by his special adviser on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
On the other hand, Vice President Kashim Shettima attended Ododo’s swearing-in ceremony on January 27. Tinubu’s virtual presence at the event was well-documented through photos and it quickly circulated online, sparking reactions as well.
The new Deputy Governor of Kogi state, Salifu Oyibo, was in a video that went viral, prostrating before the immediate past governor of the state, Yahaya Bello, shortly after he took his oath of office. This happened just before Ododo’s swearing-in ceremony.
Usman Ododo wasted no time in making announcements as he swiftly appointed cabinet members and other key aides on his first day in office. He also revealed that the nomination of some commissioners would be forwarded to the Assembly for prompt confirmation as members of the state executive council. Most of the Commissioner-nominees were from the immediate past administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
It is apparent that the public is keeping a close eye on the new administration in Kogi State, as evidenced by the widespread coverage and reaction to the events surrounding the inauguration. Source: Legit.ng.
