The major opposition parties in Akwa Ibom State have strongly refuted claims made by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) regarding the purported defection of 37,874 members of opposition parties to the PDP. The opposition parties, including the All Progressives Congress (APC), Young Peoples Party (YPP), and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), have labeled these claims as misleading, false, and an attempt to gain political mileage.
