Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says only 14 out of 171 associations seeking registration as political parties met the requirements to proceed to the next stage.
Sam Olumekun, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, disclosed this in a statement after the commission regular meeting on Thursday in Abuja.
Olumekun said that 157 associations failed to meet the requirements.
