Former Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mike Okiro, said the amendment of Section 7 (6) of the Police Act 2020 to allow for a four-year tenure for the office of the I-G would stabilise the police system.

Mr Okiro who said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Abuja, added that the amendment would afford the IGP adequate time to execute programmes initiated within the period.
