The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) emerged victorious in the recent rerun elections held in Kura/Garun Mallam State Constituency in Kano, as well as in Rimin Gado/Tofa state constituency. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Dr. Alhassan Zakariya Ishaq of NNPP as the winner in the Kura/Garun Mallam State Constituency, while Bello Muhammad Butu-Butu, also of NNPP, emerged as the winner in the Rimin Gado/Tofa state constituency.

The rerun elections were ordered by the appeal court, which directed INEC to conduct new polls at 20 polling units in the Kura/Garun Malam state constituency and at 33 polling units in the Rimin Gado/Tofa state constituency in Kano State.
