Some members of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the 19 Northern States, forming the Concerned NNPP Stakeholders, have expressed their lack of confidence in Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State. The group issued a communique on Monday, signed by the President, Hon. Attahiru Musa, Secretary, Hon. Simon Pam, and other members.

In the communique, the NNPP stakeholders voiced their disappointment with the direction the party is taking, particularly in Kano State. They criticized the party’s leadership in the state, stating that it is currently performing worse than the central government and the previous administration.

The stakeholders highlighted how the NNPP had initially garnered support and optimism from citizens who were seeking a change from the traditional political structure. Governor Abba Yusuf was seen as a beacon of hope for the state, with promises of clearing the mess left by past administrations.

However, the stakeholders lamented that the party’s performance in Kano State has been a letdown. They pointed out that the state was meant to set an example for good governance and effective leadership, but instead, it has fallen short. The stakeholders expressed their frustration at the lack of effective opposition to the ruling APC government in the state.

There have been ongoing tensions between Governor Abba Yusuf and his predecessor, Umar Ganduje, who is now the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The state government has made threats to prosecute Ganduje for alleged financial mismanagement during his time as governor.

The rift between the two prominent political figures has added to the internal strife within the NNPP in Kano State. The stakeholders are calling for a change in leadership and a renewed commitment to the party’s original principles.

As Concerned NNPP Stakeholders, they are urging for a reassessment of the party’s direction and a recommitment to the core values that attracted supporters in the first place. They believe that Governor Abba Yusuf, despite his initial promise, has failed to deliver on the expectations set by the party.

In conclusion, the NNPP stakeholders in Kano State are calling for a reevaluation of the party’s leadership and a renewed focus on serving the interests of the people. They are advocating for a stronger opposition to the ruling government and a return to the party’s founding principles of transparency, accountability, and good governance.
