Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, the National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and the party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, expressed confidence in his party’s ability to tackle the various challenges facing Nigeria. Following a meeting of the NNPP National Executive Committee in Abuja, Mr. Kwankwaso spoke to journalists about the party’s vision for the country.

He criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stating that they had failed to meet the needs of the Nigerian people. According to Mr. Kwankwaso, the NNPP is the only hope for Nigerians in these times of political and socio-economic turmoil.

Addressing the issue of insecurity, particularly the ongoing insurgency and banditry in the country, Mr. Kwankwaso, a former Minister of Defence, stressed the importance of adequate motivation for the military to effectively address the security challenges. While acknowledging the primary responsibility of the Federal Government in ensuring national security, he emphasized the crucial role of ordinary Nigerians in providing valuable information to security agencies.

Having served as the Chief Security Officer of Kano State for eight years, Mr. Kwankwaso highlighted the urgent need for a unified approach to combatting insecurity, emphasizing the necessity for the Nigerian military to play a central role in restoring peace and stability in the country. He called for a coordinated effort involving all stakeholders to address the escalating violence and displacement affecting communities nationwide.

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State, also present at the meeting, urged NNPP members to demonstrate unwavering dedication to the party, emphasizing the importance of wholehearted loyalty and commitment. He emphasized that true allegiance to the party should be absolute, at 100 percent, rather than settling for anything less.

The current state of affairs in Nigeria, characterized by widespread insecurity, economic challenges, and social unrest, underscores the pressing need for effective leadership and decisive action. As the NNPP prepares to contest the upcoming presidential elections, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso and his party members are determined to offer a viable alternative to the traditional political establishment, promising a bold and innovative approach to governance.

In conclusion, the NNPP, under the leadership of Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, aims to provide a new direction for Nigeria, offering practical solutions to the country’s most pressing issues. With a focus on security, economic development, and good governance, the party seeks to earn the trust and support of Nigerian citizens as they navigate the challenges of the present and build a brighter future for all.
