Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, a chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), recently advised Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, to focus on his spiritual work instead of getting involved in politics. Oguntoyinbo expressed his views in response to Ayodele’s comments about the NNPP candidate in the Edo State governorship election.

In a statement released to DAILY POST, Oguntoyinbo criticized Ayodele for his remarks about the NNPP candidate, Azembe Arena. Ayodele had suggested that Arena would not succeed in the upcoming election and would only end up wasting his money. Oguntoyinbo was taken aback by Ayodele’s comments and advised him to stay out of political matters.

The NNPP chieftain urged Ayodele to focus on his responsibilities as a spiritual leader and refrain from interfering in politics. He questioned why Ayodele felt the need to involve himself in political issues instead of concentrating on his church work. Oguntoyinbo emphasized the importance of maintaining boundaries between spiritual and political matters, warning Ayodele that mixing the two could lead to a loss of respect and credibility.

Oguntoyinbo reminded Ayodele that their candidate had not sought his spiritual or financial assistance, making it unnecessary for the cleric to comment on the election. He urged Ayodele to prioritize his spiritual duties, highlighting the numerous responsibilities that come with being a spiritual leader. Oguntoyinbo cautioned Ayodele against getting entangled in political affairs, stressing that such involvement could tarnish his reputation.

As Oguntoyinbo continued to criticize Ayodele’s statements, he emphasized the importance of staying true to one’s calling and not veering off course. He questioned Ayodele’s motives for making predictions about the election and advised him to focus on his spiritual obligations instead. Oguntoyinbo warned Ayodele that interfering in politics could have negative consequences and urged him to reconsider his involvement in such matters.

In conclusion, Oguntoyinbo’s remarks serve as a reminder to spiritual leaders like Primate Elijah Ayodele to prioritize their spiritual duties and refrain from getting embroiled in political controversies. By staying true to their calling and avoiding unnecessary entanglements in political matters, spiritual leaders can maintain their integrity and credibility in the eyes of their followers and the public.
