The Federal Government has announced that Tuesday, 9th, and Wednesday, 10th of April, 2024 will be observed as public holidays to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr. This declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government. He extended his congratulations to all Muslim Ummah for successfully fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo also encouraged the Muslim community to embody and practice virtues such as kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighborliness, and compassion, following the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).

The Ministry’s permanent secretary, Aishetu Gogo-Ndayako, emphasized the importance of unity among Nigerians to promote peace and harmony in the country. She urged citizens to continue fostering a spirit of togetherness in order to achieve national unity and progress.

As part of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the Minister expressed well wishes to the Muslim Ummah and prayed for the peace, blessings, and favor of Allah to be with everyone during this festive period.
