The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesome Wike, is optimistic that Nigeria will overcome its current challenges. This assurance was given during a visit by the Methodist Prelate, Most Rev. Oliver Aba, to Wike in Abuja on Thursday. Wike expressed gratitude to the Church for their prayers for the country and for the government of President Bola Tinubu in achieving his vision for Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of seeking God’s guidance in governance, stating that no leader can govern successfully without the backing of God.
Wike firmly believes that Nigeria will emerge victorious from the current turmoil. He acknowledged the signs of progress and expressed confidence that the country will overcome its challenges. He highlighted Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to seeking prayer support from religious leaders for his administration and the growth of Nigeria. Wike emphasized that prayer is essential and that without God’s intervention, nothing significant can be achieved. He assured the Methodist Church that their request for land to build offices and a media center would be considered by the FCT Administration.
On his part, Rev. Aba explained that the proposed land allocation would be used for a liaison office and a media center to support evangelism and other social activities. He mentioned that a similar request submitted in 2023 was not granted, but expressed the Church’s commitment to continue praying for the success of the Tinubu-led government. Rev. Aba stressed that the government’s success is crucial for the well-being of all Nigerians and pledged to support Tinubu’s ‘renewed hope’ agenda. He prayed for economic revitalization and the eradication of insecurity in the country, affirming his belief in the hope for Nigeria and Nigerians.
Both Wike and Aba underscored the importance of faith and prayer in navigating the challenges facing Nigeria. They reiterated their confidence in the country’s ability to overcome its current difficulties with the support of God and the collective efforts of its citizens. Wike reiterated Tinubu’s commitment to seeking divine guidance for his administration and called for continued prayer support from religious leaders and the public. Rev. Aba emphasized the Church’s dedication to supporting the government in achieving its goals and prayed for a brighter future for Nigeria.
In conclusion, the meeting between Wike and Aba symbolizes a unity of faith and purpose in seeking God’s intervention for Nigeria’s progress and stability. The reassurance of victory and hope expressed by both leaders reflects a belief in the country’s potential to overcome its challenges and emerge stronger. With a focus on prayer, faith, and collective effort, Nigeria can aspire to a brighter future guided by divine providence.
