President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made a significant decision in appointing Engr. Umar Abdullahi Umar to a top position in his government. Umar, who is the son of the APC national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, has been appointed as the executive director, technical services of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA). Justice Abdullahi Liman’s judgment stated that the attorney-general of the federation and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have the authority to handle such cases. The decision was met with mixed reactions, with Usman Fari, the counsel to the anti-graft agency, expressing intentions to challenge the court’s ruling at the Court of Appeal.
