A women’s rights group, Voices for Inclusion and Equity for Women (VIEW), has called on Senate President Godswill Akpabio to step aside to allow for an independent and transparent investigation into allegations of sexual harassment levelled against him by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

In a statement signed by key members on Tuesday, the group expressed deep concern over what it described as persistent gender inequity and systemic disrespect for women in the 10th Senate.
