Rabiu Kwankwaso recently made some controversial claims alleging that there was a scheme in Kano State to orchestrate violence and frame him for these acts. He believes this was plotted by his rivals in Kano. It is important to note that Kwankwaso is the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP). He declared that these acts were done to have him unjustly arrested due to a campaign of violence that was not initiated by him.

He implied this was in anticipation of an expected victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kano State governorship dispute at the Supreme Court. Kwankwaso explicitly stated that the was no deal with the APC to get a favorable judgement at the apex court. He also repeatedly boasted about his political experience and acumen.

The Apex Court upheld Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s election and also criticized the lower court judges for legal mistakes. Kwankwaso was clear in refuting any claims of making a deal with the APC. He also mentioned about the his closed doors to the party.

Kwankwaso made these assertions while engaging with local radio stations in Kano and did not hesitate to express his confidence in his ability to stay ahead in the game of politics. Despite facing multiple accusations and widespread criticisms, he boldly declared, “Politics is not dirty as many are saying. Politics is a clean game. With my experience, I can assure you, someone cannot outsmart me in this game.”

While responding to questions about the possibility of rejoining the PDP, he mentioned that the PDP faced challenges in electing a zonal vice chairman in Kaduna because of his interest in the position. Furthermore, he asserted that his accomplishments with the NNPP could entice PDP leaders to offer him a prominent position at the party.

Additionally, Kwankwaso attributes the progress of Kano State on the recent Supreme Court judgement. He underlined the need to fulfill electoral promises and stated that the state would now concentrate on improving the quality of education from primary to tertiary levels as well as establishing Kano State as a role model for other states.

Regarding his relationship with the current administration and Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he openly stated that they have their party while the NNPP has theirs. He vehemently denied any links with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) despite continued speculation.
