Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, recently welcomed a team of Chinese investors to the State as part of the government’s efforts to promote Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). During the meeting at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, Governor Idris assured the investors of his administration’s readiness to partner with them in various areas of trade and investments.
Emphasizing his commitment to attracting investors to Kebbi State, Governor Idris highlighted the abundant natural resources in the State, with every Local Government Area (LGA) boasting its own resources. He noted the untapped potential of these natural resources and expressed gratitude for the Chinese team’s interest in partnering with Kebbi State.
Governor Idris specifically mentioned the presence of Gold, gypsum, and lithium among other minerals in Kebbi State, showcasing the wealth of resources available for investment. He also accepted an invitation to visit China for further discussions on investment opportunities and expressed eagerness to welcome Chinese investors to the State.
The leader of the Chinese investment team, Mr. Li Zhensheng, echoed their commitment to enhancing China-Africa comprehensive relationships. He highlighted the complementary nature of China and Nigeria, noting their shared interests in infrastructure, service industries, agriculture, and finance. Mr. Li Zhencheng mentioned the potential for cooperation on various projects to boost development and improve the livelihoods of the people of Kebbi State.
The Chinese delegation’s visit to Kebbi State aimed to explore cooperation and partnership opportunities in trade development, agriculture (including irrigation farming), industrial projects, and infrastructure development for economic growth. Mr. Li Zhencheng emphasized China’s advanced technology, expertise, and experience that could be beneficial for Kebbi State’s development.
During the visit, the Chinese team showcased projects executed by Chinese experts in Africa through a video presentation. They also presented an embroidery souvenir to Governor Nasir Idris, depicting horse artistry symbolizing ruggedness and resilience. These gestures emphasized the potential for collaboration between Chinese investors and Kebbi State in advancing various sectors of development.
In conclusion, Governor Idris and the Chinese investors affirmed their mutual interest in promoting trade and investments between Kebbi State and China.
