President Bola Tinubu has recently announced the appointment of several qualified Nigerians to key positions in agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy. The appointments, which were made official in a statement signed by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), signify a strategic move towards enhancing the development and impact of the digital economy sector in the country.
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) will welcome the following individuals to its leadership team: Abraham Oshadami as the Executive Commissioner for Technical Services, Rimini Makama as the Executive Commissioner for Stakeholder Management, and Opeyemi Dele-Ajayi as the President/CEO of the Digital Bridge Institute. Their wealth of experience and expertise is expected to contribute significantly to the commission’s role in the digital economy landscape.
Meanwhile, at the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Limited, Abiodun Attah has been appointed as the Executive Director for Technical Services, while Aisha Abdullahi will take on the role of Executive Director for Finance & Administration. Jaiyeola Awokoya has also been appointed as the Executive Director for Marketing & Business Development. These appointments are aimed at bolstering the operations and strategic direction of NIGCOMSAT Limited.
In the case of Galaxy Backbone (GB) Limited, President Tinubu has appointed a new management team to drive the agency’s initiatives. Ibrahim Adepoju Adeyanju will serve as the Managing Director/CEO, while Mohammed Sani Ibrahim has been appointed as the Executive Director for Finance & Corporate Services. Additionally, Olusegun Olulade will assume the position of Executive Director for Customer Centricity & Marketing, and Olumbe Akinkugbe will serve as the Executive Director for Digital Exploration & Technical Services. These appointments are poised to bring about innovative and customer-focused strategies at Galaxy Backbone Limited.
