The Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, hosted a dinner in honor of Nasiru Danu, who was newly turbaned as the Sardaunan of Dutse. The dinner took place at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State. This event was part of a series of celebrations to mark the new traditional titleholder, who is also a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Emir of Dutse, Muhammad Hamim-Sanusi, granted the prestigious title to Mr. Danu, recognizing his philanthropic efforts. The dinner was attended by prominent Nigerians, including former military chiefs Tukur Buratai and Zubairu Gambo, former EFCC Chairman Ibrahim Magu, former presidential media aide Garba Shehu, former Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika, and Senator Halliru Jika.
Also present were the Speaker of the Jigawa State Assembly, Haruna Aliyu, and APC chieftain Farouk Aliyu, along with other politicians from across the country. In January, the Dutse Emirate Council announced the conferment of the title of Sardaunan Gombe on Mr. Danu following the passing of the previous title holder, Maitama Bello.
The official title conferment ceremony for Mr. Danu will take place at the Emir’s palace in Garu, Dutse, with former President Muhammadu Buhari as the Special Guest of Honor and Governor Namadi as the Guest of Honor. Prior to his appointment as Sardauna and Kingmaker of Dutse Emirate, Mr. Danu was bestowed with the title of ‘Dan Amanar Dutse’ by the late Emir, Nuhu Muhammad-Sanusi, in May 2017.
Nasir Danu is a well-known Nigerian businessman and political figure who is actively involved in leadership and philanthropy. As the chairman of Casiva Limited and the founder and CEO of Nasiru Danu Foundation, he has made significant contributions to various educational initiatives aimed at empowering youth and communities in Nigeria.
Mr. Danu’s political journey began in 2002 when he joined the political group of President Buhari, supporting his presidential bid in the 2003 election. His dedication to education and community empowerment reflects his commitment to positive change in Nigerian society.
