Solomon Dalung, the former minister of youths and sports, has urged President Bola Tinubu to put an end to the blame game and work towards what he referred to as a “Lagos miracle” in addressing Nigeria’s declining economy. In a post on Monday, Dalung expressed his views on the Tinubu administration and highlighted that blaming the former president would not resolve the country’s challenges.

“Blaming #MBuhari for economic woes cannot address the economic situation confronting the people? Can bulk trading be the only solution for #officialABAT & his economic team? The pregnant situation deserves urgent prescriptions. Hunger & high cost of living is at an unbearable level,” he wrote.

Dalung referred to the attempt to shift the blame from the current administration to the previous president as uncharitable hypocrisy. He criticized the attempt to change the narrative from “don’t pity me, I looked for the job and got it” to blaming Buhari by certain individuals, stating that Tinubu knew about these problems but still pursued power.

“The attempt to change narratives of #officialABAT from ‘don’t pity me, I look for the job and got it’ to blaming Buhari by #BwalaDaniel #aonanuga1956 & Co travelers is uncharitable hypocrisy, #officialABAT knew all these problems, yet ‘he snatched power and run away with it,'” he continued.

With a focus on the impact of the economic challenges on the people, Dalung emphasized that an empty stomach does not listen to the voice of the gospel and that the echoes of concerns, especially from traditional rulers, cannot be ignored.

“An empty stomach does not listen to the voice of the gospel, the echoes of concerns, especially traditional rulers cannot be ignored. I lean my voice to it, #officialABAT hunger is a recipe for disaster, can you sit back at home and engage broadly if your wisdom cannot provide solutions?” he stated.

He further urged Tinubu to harness the same energy, knowledge, tactics, and financial resources deployed during elections and tribunals to address Nigeria’s security and economic challenges, implying that things could change if such efforts were applied.

“If #officialABAT deploys the same energy, knowledge, tactics & money during elections & tribunal to deal with Nigeria’s security & economic challenges, things will change. Why has the steam suddenly changed to blaming Daura? You have snatched power, oya perform your Lagos miracles,” Mr Dalung added.

The statement from Dalung underscores the need for tangible actions and solutions to address Nigeria’s economic challenges. It also highlights the importance of leadership accountability and responsibility in steering the country towards economic stability and growth.

In conclusion, Solomon Dalung’s comments serve as a reminder of the urgency and importance of addressing Nigeria’s economic challenges. His call for an end to the blame game and the need for concrete actions to improve the economic situation reflects the concerns of many Nigerians. It remains to be seen how the administration will respond to these calls for action and whether steps will be taken to address the issues raised.
