The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Oyo State is making preparations for the re-run election in Saki West State Constituency. The commission has received both non-sensitive and sensitive materials to be used for the election, and these materials were received at the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Ibadan branch in the Dugbe area amidst tight security.

To ensure the security of the electoral process, the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Hamzat Adebola, has promised to deploy 182 police officers for the election.
