Emphasizing his dedication to the party’s peaceful resolution of internal issues, Obi remained optimistic about the LP’s ability to overcome its challenges and move forward as a unified entity. He stated, “No, there is no such thing as leaving the Labour Party. I am for peace; I like peace. I believe we are one people. Our concentration should be on peace and I believe that we will resolve all situations.”
Regarding speculations of a potential presidential bid in 2027 with former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Obi redirected the conversation to the immediate needs of Nigerians. He emphasized the importance of focusing on improving the current state of the country for the benefit of its citizens. Obi expressed his commitment to creating a better society and improving the lives of Nigerians as his primary concern.
In a gesture of solidarity and support during the Ramadan period, Obi donated a borehole at Pantami market to provide the community with access to clean water. He highlighted the importance of assisting Nigerians, particularly the less privileged, to alleviate the challenges they face. Additionally, Obi mentioned plans to provide financial support to individuals in need as part of his ongoing efforts to help those affected by current hardships.

The National Liberation Council (NLC) spokesperson, Benson Upah, affirmed that Obi’s decision to stay or leave the party was his prerogative. However, Upah emphasized Obi’s value as an asset to the LP, underscoring the party’s willingness to support him regardless of his choice.
In conclusion, Peter Obi’s focus on fostering peace and unity within the Labour Party and his commitment to addressing the immediate needs of Nigerians demonstrate his dedication to serving the country’s best interests.
