Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State recently launched a fleet of modern Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs) and 30 motorcycles in an effort to boost waste collection and management in the state. This move comes as part of a new waste clearance initiative called “Operation Nazafa” aimed at improving the cleanliness of Kano metropolis and its surrounding areas.
During the inauguration, Governor Yusuf emphasized his administration’s commitment to maintaining a clean environment and ensuring effective waste management practices. He also made a promise to address the outstanding entitlements of workers at the Kano Refuse Management and Sanitation Board who were affected by the previous administration’s reorganization of the board.
