Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf of Kano State recently swore in nine new High Court judges and four Khadis of the Shari’a Court of Appeal in a bid to expedite the dispensation of justice in the state. These appointments were made with the aim of ensuring that justice is served promptly and fairly.

The governor emphasized that the judges and Khadis were selected based on their exceptional legal skills, dedication to justice, and commitment to upholding the rule of law. The newly appointed judges include Fatima Adamu, Hauwa Lawal, Musa Ahmad, Musa Dahuru Muhammad, Farida Rabiu, Aisha Mahmud, Halima Nasir, Adam Abdullahi, and Haneef Yusuf. On the other hand, the Shari’a Court of Appeal Khadis appointed are Muhammad Khademi, Salisu Isah, Isah Sa’id, and Muhammad Kani.

Governor Kabir-Yusuf expressed his confidence in the appointees, stating that he believes they will carry out their duties with impartiality, wisdom, and fairness. He highlighted the importance of upholding the fundamental principles of the legal system, including creating a conducive environment for the judiciary and ensuring that justice is accessible to all individuals, not just a select few.

The governor stressed the significance of fairness, equity, impartiality, and the fear of Allah in the discharge of their duties by the new judges and Khadis. He stated that their responsibilities extend beyond interpreting laws to shaping the legal landscape in alignment with the values and aspirations of society.

Furthermore, Governor Kabir-Yusuf commended the State Chief Judge, Justice Dije Aboki, and the State Grand Khadi, Alhaji Tijjani Yakasai, for their outstanding qualities and dedicated service to the judiciary and the welfare of its members.

In conclusion, the governor urged the newly appointed judges and Khadis to carry out their duties with integrity, fairness, and a deep sense of responsibility. By upholding these values, they will contribute to the preservation of justice and the rule of law in Kano State.
