Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf of Kano State on Monday presented Staff of Office to Muhammad Umar, as Emir of Rano.
Speaking after the presentation in Rano town, Mr Yusuf said the state government appreciated the contributions of traditional institutions in promoting peace and stability in the state.
The governor urged the second class Emir to remain a father to all his subjects, without discrimination and to accord priority attention to education.
