Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, demonstrated his commitment to ending insecurity in the state by visiting communities attacked by bandits. The recent attacks in Nassarawan Zurmi and Nasarawan Godel in Zurmi and Birnin Magaji Local Government Areas, respectively, prompted the Governor to show support to the affected people and offer condolences to the families who lost loved ones.

In a statement released by the Governor’s spokesman, Sulaiman Bala Idris, it was highlighted that Governor Lawal reassured the communities of his government’s dedication to finding a lasting solution to the security challenges in the state. During his visit to the burnt police station in Nasarawan Zurmi, the Governor promised to provide necessary assistance to the police to ensure their operations continue without hindrance. He also expressed his condolences for the officers who lost their lives during the bandit attack in Nasarawan Zurmi, praising the courage of the troops fighting against banditry.

Governor Lawal also paid homage to the Emir of Zurmi LGA, His Royal Highness Alhaji Bello Sulaiman, and visited Nasarawan Godel in Birnin Magaji LGA to assure the residents that relief materials were sent immediately after the attack. His aim was to offer comfort to the grieving families and demonstrate the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the people. During his return to Gusau, Governor Lawal stopped at Kasuwan Daji in Kauran Namoda LGA to visit Alhaji Hamisu Kasuwan Daji, whose house had also been recently attacked by bandits.
