The governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, has ordered the immediate suspension of all non-statutory deductions from civil servant salaries.

According to a statement issued by the governor’s media aide, Suleiman Idris, the directive was a sequel to complaints of multiple deductions made through the state payroll systems by the workers.

Mr Idris said some of the deductions include cooperative association commodities, loan repayments, and among others.
