Governor Dauda Lawal has directed all political appointees and council members in Zamfara State who intend to contest in the 2027 general elections to resign their positions on or before March 31, 2026.

The directive was issued on Monday during the 64th State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House in Gusau, as part of moves to ensure compliance with electoral regulations ahead of the polls.
