Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara has expressed condolences over the killing of 16 members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, JTF, and local vigilantes during military airstrikes in Tungar Kara, Zurmi Local of the state.

The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, had, in a successful airstrike over the weekend, decisively targeted bandits attacking villages in the Zurmi and Maradun Local Government Areas.

During the operation, 16 civilians were killed by the air component of the military.
