Mohammed Ibrahim Idris, a former member of the House of Representatives and son of a former governor of Kogi state, Ibrahim Idris, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, in Abuja. He was a prominent politician in Kogi state and reportedly slumped at his house in Abuja shortly after observing the Eid-el-Fitir prayer. Mohammed, who represented Ankpa,-Olamabo-Omala federal Constituency of Kogi at the National Assembly, has been buried according to Islamic rites.

The news of Mohammed’s death was confirmed by his elder brother, Abubakar Idris, who expressed deep sadness over the loss of his brother. Abubakar mentioned that Mohammed collapsed at his residence after the Eid prayer and was subsequently laid to rest at the Gudu Cemetery in Abuja following a funeral prayer attended by a crowd of mourners at the National Mosque.

Mohammed’s passing has left a void in the political landscape of Kogi state, where he served as a member of the House of Representatives between 2007 and 2011. His untimely death has come as a shock to many who knew him as a dedicated and committed public servant.

In a similar development, the Osolo of Isolo Kingdom in Lagos state, Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka, Adeola Olushi III, was also declared dead after returning home from the Eid al-Fitr prayer ground. The chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Olasoju Adebayo, confirmed the monarch’s passing and announced that he would be buried according to Islamic rites.

The sudden deaths of Mohammed Ibrahim Idris and Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka serve as a sobering reminder of the fragility of life and the unpredictability of fate. Both men were respected figures in their respective communities, and their untimely departures have left a void that will be difficult to fill.

As we mourn the loss of these two individuals, let us remember the legacy they leave behind and the impact they had on those around them. May their souls rest in peace, and may their families find comfort in this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by these tragic losses.
