The All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, has expressed a desire to reconcile with Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano after being urged by President Bola Tinubu. In addition to making peace with Governor Yusuf, Ganduje has proposed that he leave the ruling All Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano to join the APC. He has also appealed to other NNPP chieftains to consider joining the opposition party, ensuring them that the APC would provide an enabling environment for their involvement.
At a stakeholders meeting in Kano, Ganduje emphasized that little parties will be urged to join the APC, reiterating the potential for Kano to become a single-party state. He promised an enabling environment and peace to Governor Yusuf and his supporters in the APC, stating, “Our hands are wide open. We are appealing to those who like to join our party. In particular, we are inviting the governor of Kano state to dump his party, NNPP, and join APC.”
Ganduje arrived in Kano, where he was received enthusiastically by APC members, and subsequently met with key Kano APC stakeholders. President Bola Tinubu had earlier encouraged Ganduje to restore his relationship with Senator Kwankwaso and others willing to align with the APC, following the Supreme Court’s affirmation of Abba Yusuf as the bonafide governor of Kano state.
