Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe, has called on traders across the country not to increase the prices of foodstuffs and other commodities as the Ramadan fast approaches. He made this appeal while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria in his palace in Bida, where he also serves as the Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers.

The Etsu Nupe emphasized the importance of practicing the teachings of the Holy Prophet of Islam and other Islamic injunctions by being each other’s keepers. He urged traders to conduct their businesses in a manner that is consistent with Islamic values and to assist their neighbors during this time.

In light of the upcoming Ramadan month, Etsu Nupe urged traders to show empathy towards the common people and reduce the prices of essential goods, especially food items, to make them more accessible. He highlighted the importance of feeling the pains of others and cutting down costs to receive blessings from Allah in their businesses.

The traditional ruler warned against the consequences of hiking prices during Ramadan, stating that individuals who engage in such practices will be held accountable before Almighty Allah on the day of judgment. He expressed concern over the deliberate increase in prices of goods like grains, fruits, beverages, and condiments during the holy month, emphasizing that prices should be lowered instead.

Etsu Nupe called on traders to align with the spirit of Ramadan by lowering their prices and benefiting fully from the blessings of the month. He emphasized that Ramadan is a time for seeking God’s face through fasting and good deeds, urging individuals and organizations to extend help to the less privileged during this period.

The royal father appealed to the wealthy members of society to assist the less privileged by providing them with food items and financial support to alleviate their hardships. He stressed the importance of using wealth to benefit those in need, especially the poor and widows, and highlighted the significance of acts of charity during Ramadan.

In conclusion, Yahaya Abubakar encouraged people to use their resources to support the less fortunate during Ramadan, noting that such acts of kindness will help alleviate the challenges faced by those who are fasting. As the holy month approaches, he emphasized the importance of compassion, generosity, and community support among all individuals.
