Nigeria: Conviction of terrorist commander a win against illegal mining – Alake — Africa Links 24

Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Dele Alake, says the conviction of Mahmud Usman, a commander of Ansaru terrorist group, is a major victory against illegal mining in Nigeria.

Mr Alake said this in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Segun Tomori, on Sunday in Abuja.

Federal High Court in Abuja on Sept. 11 convicted and sentenced Usman to 15 years’ imprisonment for illegal mining activities.
