The Bauchi State Government has announced the commencement of the payment of compensations to individuals affected by the award of contracts for the construction of roads and two flyover bridges in the state. During the payment exercise held at the former State Development Board, now Bauchi State Infrastructural Development and Maintenance Agency (BASIDMA), the Chairman of the Bauchi Standing Committee for the assessment and payment of compensation, Alh. Nuru Adamu Jumba, emphasized the importance of the initiative in bringing relief to the affected individuals. He highlighted the administration’s dedication to ensuring that those whose properties have been affected by proposed infrastructural projects are duly compensated.
Nuru Adamu Jumba informed the public that the Committee has commenced the first phase of the compensation exercise, specifically making payments to those impacted by the proposed construction of the Wunti Market Flyover Bridge. He urged other individuals whose properties have been assessed for compensation to prepare necessary documents, including a passport photograph of the beneficiary and one of the following identification cards: a voter card, a national identity card, a driver’s license, or an international passport.
In his concluding remarks, Nuru Adamu Jumba commended the committee members for their unwavering dedication and support in ensuring the success of the exercise. He also encouraged them to maintain the same level of commitment throughout the process.
