Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, citing prolonged instability and failed reconciliation efforts within the opposition party.

Speaking during the announcement at the Government House in Bauchi, the governor said the decision followed extensive consultations with political stakeholders and supporters across the state.
