Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have expressed their displeasure at the reported suspension of Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the party, by a group claiming to be from his Ward in the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano state. The state leadership of the party has denied the suspension, calling the perpetrators impostors.

The Concerned APC Members (CAM), led by Okpokwu Ogenyi, held a press conference in Abuja to address the situation and demand the immediate arrest of those behind the alleged suspension. Ogenyi emphasized the need to hold the perpetrators accountable and prevent similar incidents in the future.

The group expressed shock at the news of Ganduje’s suspension by individuals claiming to be members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) from his Ward. They highlighted the use of the party’s legal adviser’s name in announcing the suspension without proper authorization, noting that a legal adviser does not have the authority to suspend party officials, as that power rests with the ward chairman.

Ogenyi stressed that impersonation is a criminal offense and called on the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of State Security Service to take immediate action against the impostors. He warned that failure to arrest and prosecute them could set a dangerous precedent, with members of other parties potentially attempting similar actions against prominent APC figures.

The group emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law within the party and ensuring that internal disputes are resolved through proper channels and in accordance with the party’s constitution. They urged the relevant authorities to swiftly address the situation to prevent any further disruptions or attempts to undermine the party’s leadership.

In conclusion, Ogenyi reiterated the call for the immediate arrest and prosecution of those responsible for Ganduje’s alleged suspension, emphasizing the need for accountability and respect for the party’s internal processes. The CAM members vowed to continue monitoring the situation and taking necessary action to protect the integrity and stability of the APC.
