Mr Bosun Arebuwa, an aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming governorship election in Ondo State, recently spoke to journalists in Akure, the state capital. He urged the people to choose a candidate who will lead a purposeful and business-oriented government in the state. Arebuwa promised that if elected, his administration would focus on addressing critical issues and strive to be a positive example for governance in Nigeria.

He criticized the current All Progressive Congress (APC)-led administration in the state, labeling it as the worst in the country’s history. Arebuwa’s mission is to establish a legacy of excellence in various sectors such as education, health, youth empowerment, agribusiness, industrial growth, and security. He emphasized the importance of clear policies, competent professionals, motivated workforce, and active engagement with the public for feedback on successes and weaknesses in governance.

Arebuwa highlighted the need for a governor who can inspire and lead effectively, a quality he believes has been lacking in Ondo State over the past seven years. He expressed his vision for a government that is transparent, accountable, and efficient in its operations. Arebuwa plans to implement policies and strategies that will improve education, focusing on modernizing school infrastructure to meet contemporary skill and professional needs.

Reflecting on past governors in the state, Arebuwa acknowledged their unique qualities and contributions. However, he criticized the current APC administration for failing to meet high expectations and ethical standards. He commended previous governors such as Chief Adefarati for his punctuality and modesty, Dr. Olusegun Agagu for his intellectual prowess, and Dr. Olusegun Mimiko for his people-oriented approach. Arebuwa also recognized the boldness of the recently departed Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, especially in Yoruba-related matters.

In conclusion, Arebuwa vowed to bring about positive change and progress in Ondo State if elected as governor. He promised a government that is open, accountable, and cost-effective. Arebuwa’s focus is on improving education, healthcare, youth empowerment, agriculture, industry, and security while engaging with the public for feedback and continuous improvement. He aims to set a new standard for governance in the state, moving away from the darkness of the past and towards a future of growth, freedom, and opportunity.
