Ambassador Abayomi Nurain Mumuni, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on traders to avoid complicating the current economic situation in Nigeria. In a statement released on Monday, Mumuni urged traders to help create an environment that is conducive for citizens, especially during the holy month of Ramadan when Muslims are fasting.
The statement, signed by his Media Aide, Rasheed Abubakar, emphasized the importance of not hiking prices of food items across the country. Mumuni also called on well-to-do members of society to assist the needy and less privileged individuals in their communities. He stressed the need for unity and support among all members of society during this challenging time.
As Nigerian Muslims prepare to observe Ramadan, Mumuni congratulated them and encouraged both Muslims and Christians to use this period to uplift their spirituality. He highlighted the significance of Ramadan coinciding with Lent, a time when Christians also observe religious practices. Mumuni expressed hope for economic recovery, increased security, prosperity, and wisdom for the country’s leaders.
“We shouldn’t lose hope in our country. Prayer is key in turning around the fortunes of Nigeria. So, we should offer a lot of prayers for the country and its leadership. We should not curse the country because it belongs to all of us,” Mumuni said in the statement.
He urged individuals of all faiths to pray for the well-being and success of Nigeria, emphasizing the importance of coming together as a nation during challenging times. Mumuni’s appeal for unity and support resonates with the need for solidarity and cooperation to overcome economic difficulties and social challenges.
In line with the spirit of Ramadan and Lent, Mumuni called for compassion and generosity towards those in need. He emphasized the importance of community support and assistance in ensuring that all members of society are taken care of during these times of hardship.
As Nigeria faces economic challenges and uncertainties, Mumuni’s message serves as a reminder of the power of unity, prayer, and support in overcoming adversity. By coming together and offering assistance to those in need, individuals can help create a more resilient and inclusive society for all.
