The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdulahi Ganduje, has recently made appointments of six governors to coordinate in their respective geopolitical zones. The appointed governors are Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Bassey Otuof of Cross River, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara, Uba Sani of Kaduna, and Mai Mala Buni of Yobe. These governors have been tasked with initiating periodic interfaces with other members of the Progressive Governor’s Forum within their zones and the leadership of the party.

During the official oath-taking ceremony at the party’s headquarters in Abuja, Mr. Ganduje highlighted the importance of these appointments. The duty of coordinating the governors of the North-West has been assigned to Uba Sani. His responsibilities include identifying and participating in party activities, initiating interfaces with the party leadership, reconciling with aggrieved party members, mobilizing governors for party activities, consulting on party progress and unity, and assisting in resource mobilization within the zone.

Similarly, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Mai Mala Buni will oversee party activities in the North Central and North East regions, respectively. Hope Uzodimma will be in charge of the south-east, while Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Bassey Otu will coordinate the south-west and south-south activities of the party.

The goal of these appointments is to mobilize and engage with party members, disseminate information about government activities, form agendas, and ensure the functionality and effectiveness of the government. The newly appointed coordinators are expected to motivate and encourage governors within their zones to actively participate in party activities and contribute to the progress and unity of the party.

In response to their appointments, Governor Uzodimma expressed the commitment of the governors to carry out their tasks diligently. They pledged to support the government, promote inclusive programs, and strengthen the reward system of the party in government.

These appointments signify a strategic move by the APC to enhance coordination and engagement within the party across different regions. By assigning specific responsibilities to governors in various zones, the party aims to strengthen its presence, streamline its activities, and mobilize resources effectively.

Overall, these appointments mark a significant step towards fostering unity, progress, and collaboration within the All Progressives Congress as it strives to achieve its political objectives and serve the interests of its members and supporters.
