Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State is actively seeking the support and votes of party members in preparation for the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election on April 20. Out of the 16 aspirants vying to be the APC candidate for the November 16 governorship election, Mr. Aiyedatiwa is determined to emerge as the party’s flag bearer.
During a visit to the palace of Osemawe of Ondo, Oba Victor Kiladejo, the governor expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the traditional ruler’s support thus far. He emphasized the importance of party members translating their support into votes at the primary to secure his victory. The governor urged residents of Ileoluji/Okeigbo Local Government to vote for him as well, underscoring the significance of their support in his quest for the APC candidacy.
Furthermore, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his delight at the establishment of the Okeigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), asserting that the LCDA is a permanent fixture in the region. The Osemawe of Ondo commended the governor for his commitment to the University of Medical Sciences, UNIMED, Ondo, particularly the recent allocation of N1 billion for the construction of the institution’s senate building. The support and investments in education were recognized and applauded by local leaders and representatives.
House of Representatives member representing Ondo East and Ondo West, Abiola Makinde, echoed the sentiment that Ondo was fortunate to have Governor Aiyedatiwa as a leader, expressing confidence in his ability to secure the APC nomination. The visit to Ifedore local government was another opportunity for Governor Aiyedatiwa to engage with the community and garner support ahead of the primary election.
